Jump Start Basic

Whether this is your very first beading experience or a refresher course, create a project from start to finish.   Students will learn to do a gallery finish using a wire guard, crimp bead, and crimp bead cover, to accomplish a jeweler’s finish.  You will be given a comprehensive Instruction booklet also. The booklet will be discussed in detail. Instructor will elaborate on the secrets of buying material on the internet and local shops. You will find this booklet invaluable for all your future projects. The kit includes material to make a necklace and earring set. Jewelry making kits will be provided for the cost of $15 – cash only –to the instructor.  This is a hands-on class. Completion of this class is recommended prior to enrollment in any of the following jewelry making classes

Running Rings Around You

Earring and Pendant - Basic

Learn basic skills of using a hammer and anvil to design fancy headpins to wrap earrings and gemstone pendants with a handmade bale. This class is a must as you will use this technique for future wrapping and chaining projects.  Kits will contain materials for two pairs of earrings and one pendant. Jewelry making kits will be provided for the cost of $15 –cash only – to the instructor. Completion of this class is recommended prior to enrollment in any of the following jewelry making classes.

Crazy about Coiling

Learn to create dramatic beads out of coiled wire using the Coiling Gismo. Different techniques will be explored as well as a variety of colored wires and varied gauges. This bracelet is so classic and yet so organic at the same time, combining the movement of pounded metal with the sparkle of crystals and calm of freshwater pearls. Wow! Can you believe that the holidays are upon us? How does that happen? I feel like I just got the beach sand out of my car and here we are decking the halls with boughs of holly! Fa, la, la, la, la….you knows the rest. If you are starting to panic about not getting your unfinished jewelry projects done in time for the holidays, this class is for you. Put a little of this, and a little of that, in your “Magic Carpet Bag”, and bring it to class! In a few hours the instructor will inspire you to complete precious your treasures.

Wire jewelry is a hot topic! Lacy wire jewelry presents a new twist on wirework. You will use a hammer and anvil (bring your own if you have them) to create a delicate filigree component that you will attach to a length of chain. Divalicious  

The secret to success in jewelry crafting is to learn as many techniques as possible and combine them to create something new and exciting. Dichroic Glass is one of the hottest materials being used by artisans today. It is an amazing material developed for the aerospace industry but discovered by warm glass artists. In this class you will use a free style coil and framing method to encase this art piece.
